Sacred Sunsets

‘Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder. Help someone’s soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd.’ RumiThe graphic in today’s blog is from a picture I snapped off of our front porch last night. I am blessed to live in an area where skies like this regularly stretch across the horizon in real time- no editing or photo-shop involved. As soon as I snapped the picture, and saw that I had captured the silhouette of a street lamp within the sunset, I knew instantly what quote I would put next to it…. It has always been one of my favorite’s- but it is not often that mother nature offers me such an exquisite illustration to match the words.Yesterday was a day full of tears, and beauty, and small miracles- all of which I had planned on writing about…. But by the time I had a moment to sit, it was after 9pm and my window of creativity was closing and my eye lids were becoming heavy….I am grateful that when the fatigue from a long day steals my inspiration that Rumi’s words and mother nature’s paintbrush can fill in the blank spaces so effortlessly. Cosmic team work at its best
