The Game of Trust
' A relationship without trust is like a phone with no service. And what do you do with a phone with no service? You play games.'
This is a quote that leaves a little sting after you read it. It took me years to get to a place in my life where I was able to cultivate relationship that were always ' in service.' Of course I did not cultivate it on my own, I was blessed to find a partner who valued trust in the same capacity as I did and it has made for the connection of a lifetime. We did not get lucky. We simply insisted.
How many of us tolerate relationships that take us into 'dead zones' where the signal dips? Settling for this is precisely how the games begin, and those games are dangerous, because we don't just get played... we begin to believe it is acceptable to play back.Meandering the back roads where the service is patchy is a dangerous place to be.
