Keep Warm

‘You are not required to set yourself on fire, to keep other people warm.’

Today’s quote reminds us that we do not always have to participate in self-sacrifice in order to make other people feel comfortable.  If someone has behaved badly toward you, it is not your job to tend to their campfire so that they can continue to feel warm in your presence.

We are all free to make choices, but none of us are free from the consequences of those choices.  Bad behaviors will always make the temperatures in a relationship drop… but we are never required to set ourselves on fire, to keep other people warm.
